| Safety Tips If you are home alone, don't answer the door to anyone. Confirm their identity and ask to see Identification (if you are able to safely view it). Do let the visitor know that you are home and say that you will get someone (your husband if you are female or your parents if you are a child). Many assailants will break in the home when they believe that the house is empty.
If you are being followed on foot, turn and look at the possible assailant in the face and take a good look. If you act timid, the assailant will know that you could be an easy target. In passing, make contact with the could be assailant. This tells them that you are alert and are not willing to be a victim.
